3 Pairs of Early Birthday Socks

This year, I decided to knit socks for my friend, Barb and her two daughters for their birthdays and to deliver them in person on my visit to Halifax earlier this month. Barb loves hand-knit socks and earlier this year, her youngest daughter decided that she would like some hand-knit socks too. I checked with Barb to see if her oldest daughter, Madeline would like socks too and I was assured that she would love a pair.

I managed to have two and a half pairs knit when I arrived in Halifax and I finished the third pair the night before I headed back home. I did a sock photo shoot before I left with my friend and her daughters’ help.

First up is Barb’s socks knit using 1 skein of my Cash Sock in the Morning on a Rocky Beach colourway. The pattern is Hermione’s Everyday Socks which is a great pattern to use for variegated sock yarn.

Margaret’s socks are knit out of a skein of Cherry Tree Hill Supersock yarn in the Mango colourway that I had in my stash. I chose this yarn since orange is Margaret’s favorite colour. The pattern is 2luvcrew from the Socktopus book.

Madeline’s socks are the ones that I finished just in time and are knit using 1 skein of my Sparkly Sock in the Cherry Blossom colourway. The pattern for these socks is Vorticity and is from the Socktopus book too. It is one of my favorite sock books and I have knit several patterns from this book already.Madeline's sock closeup
