My Whisper Jacket is Done
I finished the Whisper jacket that I received in the kit that I blogged about here. I love the completed jacket as it has great drape and I adore the sangria colourway. A couple of friends have tried on the jacket too and even though they are quite a bit smaller than me, it fit them well too.
I knit the pattern as is except that I narrowed the sleeves. I picked up the 64 sts, knit 6 rows, decreased 8 sts evenly spaced on the next row, and did this [ knit 3 rows, decrease 4 sts – 2 at top of sleeve, 2 at the bottom on the sleeve ] twice. I knit the rest of the sleeve straight on the 48 remaining stitches.
My friend Kirsti kindly took these pictures for me last Saturday at the Saturday afternoon sit n’ knit at the Just Knitting store.
In other news, I will be sharing a booth with my friend Francine of Fancy That – Creations by Francine at the upcoming Twist Fibre Festival in Saint-Andre-Avelline, Quebec (about a hour or so from Ottawa) on August 24-26. This looks like it will be a great festival. Check it out.
