The Gathering 2013 and other news

I attended The Gathering in Port Hope, Ontario on April 13, 2013 with Francine of Fancy That – Creations by Francine. We drove down the day before and stayed overnight at the lovely Summerhill B & B.

It was a lovely surprise to find that we had been given the two tables right across from where people entered. We set up our tables quickly and before we knew it, people were starting to arrive. This event is very well run and set up so that people can spend the day knitting/spinning and talking while doing some shopping on the side. I was especially touched that some customers from last year stopped by to chat and tell me about their purchases from last year. I think that the Lavender Shawl (the purple one in the picture below) that my Mom knit and let me borrow for our display was the most commented on item at our table.

This was the first event that I brought my new Merino Single Ply Fingering yarn to and I got some good feedback about this yarn. merini single ply fingeringThe two red skeins (Red Roses colourway) in picture to the left went home with someone.

In other news, Debbie of Sheeps Ahoy has graciously agreed to sell five of my shawl kits (the three shawl kits on my kits page and 2 new ones (Lavender Fields Shawl Kit and Clover Shawl Kit)) at her booth (#25 in Koyashi Hall) at the Downtown Knit Collective’s Knitters’ Frolic held in Toronto, ON on Saturday, April 27th, 2013. Natalie Servant who is the designer for the shawl patterns in these kits will be at the Sheeps Ahoy booth too. 5 shawl kits There might also be some of my Merino Light Fingering and Angel Select Lace yarn at the Unraveled booth (#53 in the Classroom Mezzanine) at the Frolic.
