My New WIP (work-in-progress)

After recently finishing knitting a large wrap in laceweight in a pattern that included lots of nupps, I was in the mood to knit some simple garter stitch lace. I remembered seeing a shawl that would fit the bill in one of my Jane Austen Knits magazines.
I found the Margaret Dashwood Shawl in the Summer 2012 issue and I decided it was exactly what I was looking for. I went looking in my stash and I found some skeins of Noro Silk Garden Sock Yarn (Col No. S84) that I thought that would work well with this pattern. So far I am really happy with this project. I think that it will be a birthday present for my best friend’s youngest daughter.
I love the Jane Austen Knits magazines because they have lots of interesting articles and projects. My favorite issue so far is the Summer 2012 issue and this is my third project from this issue. I knit the Modified Modcap using 1 skein of Madelinetosh tosh vintage in Jade and I wore it all winter. I also knit the Jane Bennett socks using my Merino Fingering yarn in Blue Haze as a Christmas present. I have my eye on a couple of other patterns in this issue.
