Knitted Christmas Gifts

My friend, Barb received the parcel with the gifts I knitted for her, her two girls and her Mom today. She texted me immediately afterwards to say that she and the girls loved theirs gifts and that she was already wearing hers. Her Mom will get her present the next time that she comes up to Halifax to visit.

I made Earth Maiden for my friend, Barb as she really liked my Earth Maiden that I wore when I visited her last summer. Earth Maiden is a rectangular wrap which can be laced up along one side so it can be worn as a poncho. I knit Barb’s Earth Maiden poncho using 3 skeins of my Merino Sport yarn in the Pewter colourway.

I knit a pair of Caretta Caretta socks for her oldest daughter using a skein of Tanis Fibres Blue Label Fingering Weight yarn in the Jewel colourway. For the younger one, I knit a pair of Man in the Brown Suit socks using 1 skein of my Cash Sock in the Ocean Mist colourway.Margaret's xmas sockscloseup

Betty (Barb’s Mom) really liked the cowls that I knit for the girls for Christmas last year, so I knit her the same Greenwillow cowl using 1 skein of my Merino Sport yarn in the Robin’s Egg colourway.cowl closeup
